Ways To Help

Real, tangible ways to make a difference — pick what feels right for you.

🇿🇦 Every donation qualifies for a Section 18A tax certificate

As a registered Public Benefit Organisation, we can issue you a Section 18A certificate for your donation — meaning you can claim it back against your taxable income with SARS.

Our Featured Projects

Our two biggest projects, working together to keep young mums in school and bring support closer to home.

The old stable building at the Drummond property that will be converted into the Baby Home
FEATURED PROJECT

Baby Home Build

We're converting the old stables on our founders' property in Drummond into a safe, DSD-compliant Baby Home, so young mums can stay in school knowing their babies are safe and cared for. We're raising funds for the conversion, cots and equipment, and staffing.

The Esikhelekehleni, Ximba community centre building
FEATURED PROJECT

Community Centre

We've secured the lease on our Community Centre in Esikhelekehleni, Ximba, and already use it for meet-ups each month. To open our doors three days a week, growing to six, we need essential building work and security in place, plus in-kind support such as furniture, computers and kitchen equipment.

Fundraise For Us

Your challenge, your way

Run, walk, cycle, bake, climb, even skydive: if there's a challenge you'd like to take on, you can raise funds for Opening Doors while you do it. The supporters pictured took on a skydive for us, and a runner recently got in touch to say they'll be running a marathon and fundraising on our behalf, and it's a brilliant example of how anyone can turn a personal goal into a gift for a young mum or a child.

Tell us what you have in mind and we'll cheer you on, share your story and show you where your money makes a difference.

Why Section 18A Matters

As a registered Public Benefit Organisation, Opening Doors NPO can issue Section 18A tax certificates for qualifying donations.

For companies: donations can be deducted from taxable income (up to 10%, per SARS rules), reducing your tax bill while directly funding our work.

For individuals: the same benefit applies to your personal tax return.

HOST A PARTNER DAY

Teach young people a practical skill

We are inviting local businesses to host a Partner Day at our Community Centre, once a month or once a quarter, to teach young people a practical skill. Collaboration is key, and building partnerships will have a greater impact.

Electricians, plumbers, mechanics, builders, welders, hairdressers and more.
